Create a custom-sized document
Creating a new document in the specific size you need is easy. To create a new document of a specific size, tap the New Document button. This will open the Document Picker where you can choose any of the Preset empty Templates.
From the Document Picker, tap the Custom Size button at the top of the window. This will automatically bring up the Document size options, on the right side of the window.
Here you can set the following properties:
- A - name
- B - size
- C - units
- D - a toggle to save the document properties as a custom template
Next, tap the Create button (E), and the new document will open automatically.
Create a document using a preset
From the Document Picker, you can choose any of the Preset templates. These work as empty templates with the correct sizing and units you need.
Tapping on each template card will automatically open an empty document.
On the left side of the Document Picker, you'll find the categories to help you navigate the Preset Document Templates sections as:
- Paper
- Devices
- Resolutions
- Social Media
- Icons
Here, you can choose to view all of the templates at the same time (6), or to view only your own custom templates (7).
Scroll down or tap the category names in the menu to find the template you need quickly.
Create a new Artboard Template
As previously mentioned, you can save a document as a preset from scratch or use one of the Preset options.
Open the Template options by tapping the button.
When you select a Preset Artboard Template, the size and units will appear automatically, based on the selected preset. To change it, simply tap and the keyboard will popup open. When you are happy with the properties set, of your template, turn on the toggle (A) to save it as a custom template.
Finally, tap the Create button. A new Document will be created and open automatically.
You'll be able to find your custom-saved Template in the Custom category, which you can access from the Sidebar.
It also contains your Screen-sized Template (A) which is automatically generated based on the screen size of your device.
If you're looking for a specific template, you can always search for it by using the Search Bar (B) at the top.
